Chris has had a successful career in the Finance world working for some iconic consumer brands including Pepsi, Ocean Spray Cranberries and Dunkin Donuts, serving in various roles including Treasurer and VP of Finance.

In 2012, Chris followed his passion of making the joy athletic achievement available to all by providing athletic training for athletes at every age and ability level and started the process of opening a world class 13,000 square foot center in Norwood Ma.

In high school, Tim was Varsity captain of the basketball team at Rye Neck H.S. before going onto Division1 College rugby at SUNY Brockport as captain. During Tim’s senior year at college, he was chosen for the USA Rugby NRU (Northeast Rugby Union) select side before moving onto semi-professional rugby at Rosslyn Park in London. 

After graduating from New York’s Brockport State University in 2007 with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology, Tim moved to London in 2008 to pursue a Masters degree in Sport Science at the University of Roehampton. During his studies in London, Tim balanced education and work commitments with a multitude of postgraduate internships and workshops. Specifically much of his extra-curricular activities focused on assisting various British National Governing Bodies with their sports performance testing services and athlete talent-identification schemes in the lead up to the 2012 London Olympic & Paralympic Games.

Aside from his involvement in the testing and training services of some of Team GB’s top athletes, Tim’s studies and work experience in the UK culminated in his landing of a full-time Strength & Conditioning Coach role with London-based, premiership rugby franchise Harlequins. While in the role he aided the squad with their successful Championship title bids during the team’s 2011 European Amlin Challenge Cup and 2012 Aviva Premiership competitions.
In addition, he also oversaw the progression of eight senior players into the England Elite Player Squad.

Upon returning to the U.S. Tim remains a highly sought after Strength & Conditioning Coach and rugby performance specialist; this recently led to his position as USA Rugby’s Head of Strength & Conditioning for the 2012 IRB Americas Rugby Championship.

Tim’s latest role is to oversee Velocity Sport Norwood’s Coaching team as their Sports Performance Director. He prides himself on being able to draw upon his unique academic background and professional experience, enabling him to lead his coaching team and provide athletes of all ages and competitive sporting backgrounds with the performance edge and personal values necessary to succeed both on and off the playing field.

Assistant Sports Performance Director

Personal Mission Statement: Everyone has an inner athlete/competitor. However, sometimes people just need a little push for them to unleash it. That’s where our job as a coach comes in. My job is to help educate our clients/athletes, to guide them through training safely and effectively, creating new lasting personal habits and most importantly to improve performance on the field, the court or in everyday life so that everyone can live each day to its fullest and be the best version of themselves possible!

Experience: Jesse completed the internship program in fall of 2018 at Velocity Sports Performance Norwood. Before his time at Velocity he completed an internship at Connecticut Speed School in the summer of 2015 and observation hours at Competitive Edge PT and Performance in Orange CT. Jesse has worked with a wide variety of athletes ranging from middle, high school, and college athletes. Joining Velocity team at the completion of the 2018 internship program he has worked with all the groups from the general population adult clients all the sports performance groups we have. Jesse was named full time to Velocity at the end of 2019 summer and is the director of the internship program at Velocity to help develop young professionals from a science and art of coaching aspect.

Jesse had played baseball for 10+ years and played 3 years of college baseball at Lasell University in Newton, MA. In 2018 he was named the captain of Lasers. And is now a coach for the Northeast Gators program with their 14u team. A program that prides itself on developing baseball players to compete at the highest level and to play the game the right way. He ran a 6 week zoom program to prepare the team during the covid-19 quarantine and the Gators had the best season in program history winning 132 games in a shortened COVID season.

Jesse is currently finishing his Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC-LVL1) and is working on a Certified Strength Conditioning Coach (CSCS). He is first aid and CPR certified.

Sports Performance Coach

Chris joined the Velocity Sports Performance team after graduating with a Bachelor’s of Sports Medicine with a Concentration in Human Performance and Wellness at Merrimack College in May of 2014. Before officially joining the team, he performed a summer internship with Velocity in the summer of 2014.

Before going back to Merrimack College for the 2019-2020 school year to complete his Masters of Exercise Science and perform a Graduate Assistant position with the University of Massachusetts Lowell Sports Performance team, Chris was our former Assistant Sports Performance Director. Through this position, Chris acted as our Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, Director of Programming for all athletes and adult clients, and was in charge of overseeing our internship program.

Over the years, Chris has worked with a wide variety of athletes and adult members including Olympic, professional, collegiate, high school, and middle school athletes, as well as our adult semi-private and bootcamp clients.

Chris has been in charge of many initiatives and teams in his time at Velocity, including being the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Stonehill Women’s Lacrosse and Tennis teams during the 2015-2016 seasons, the Jr. Spinners Baseball organization spanning all age groups, Dedham and Sharon Varsity Basketball, Westwood Varsity Soccer, and many of our adult programs.

During his time as a graduate assistant at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Chris’s main team was Men’s Lacrosse, where he was in charge of program implementation and coaching for the team during the spring season, as well as assisting with the coaching of the Baseball team.

Chris has also completed an internship with Northeastern University, where he worked with many teams such as Baseball, Women’s Ice Hockey, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, and Women’s Rowing.

Chris is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Reflexive Performance Reset Level-1 (RPR), and CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid certified.

Kelsey Scannevin

Creating an inviting atmosphere not only makes training more fun, but it keeps clients motivated to be the best version of themselves. Even the most elite athletes had to start somewhere!

Kelsey received her personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine at age 18 and has been training clients ever since. She’s been at Velocity since 2019 and primarily coaches adult group classes and semi-private sessions. She’s gaining more exposure to sports performance as well, especially since interning at Champion Physical Therapy and Performance in Waltham. Kelsey worked for a gym called New England Fitness for 2 years as a personal trainer and protein shake bar operator. She has participated in multiple shadowing opportunities and pioneered her own strength training class at Lasell as a sophomore.
Kelsey is an outfielder on the Lasell University softball team. She also competes in powerlifting and holds 10 world records, including a 345 lb. deadlift at a bodyweight of 119 lbs. In high school, she played school and travel softball and ran indoor track, serving as team captain senior year.
Her goal is to use her multiple degrees and certifications to fully encompass every component of health and wellness to best serve clients. Fitness has changed her life in countless ways, and she is passionate about helping others experience its benefits.

As a kid I grew up playing soccer and competing in Taekwondo, in my teenage years I became an International (FIS) ski racer. While attending St. Lawrence University I played for the school’s rugby team and became a play by play and color commentator for Saints Athletics. Most recently I have become fascinated with Olympic lifting and continue working to hone those skills.

I take great pride in always being part of teams that perform well and finish strong. I have a passion for the science and art of peak performance, and am given the opportunity to continue following my passion of sports psychology and coaching thanks to VSP Norwood.

Tim DiLeo is a Registered Dietitian, Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, and a ISAK Certified Anthropometrist.

Tim earned his bachelor’s degree in Applied Exercise Science from Springfield (Mass.) College in 2010, and his Master’s in Human Nutrition & Food Science from Framingham State (Mass.) University in 2015.  At Springfield, he earned two letters playing shooting guard position for the Pride; in-between attending both universities, he spent time in the strength and conditioning field in the New England area.

As a sports performance dietitian, Tim has worked primarily in the collegiate setting, with stops at the University of North Carolina, Baylor University, and the University of Colorado-Boulder. Within these athletic programs, he had the opportunity to work extensively with a variety of athletes across many different sports including: football, basketball, baseball, soccer, softball, tennis, swimming and diving, and golf among others. Tim has also worked with a number of athletes who have gone on to play professionally in the NFL, NBA, and MLB.

Tim enjoys helping athletes reach their full potential with evidence-based nutrition strategies and helping them develop habits that are sustainable for a lifetime. You won’t find any fad diets (keto, carnivore, intermittent fasting) here!!

His hobbies include playing basketball, working out, cooking up new recipes, trying out new restaurants and watching sports.
