BIOGRAPHY:

Angie comes to Velocity Sports Performance with an engaging smile as well an impressive background. She has well over 10 years of experience in the fitness industry. Angie holds a Master’s in Exercise Physiology from Columbia University as well as a Bachelor’s in Physical Education from Hunter College.

Angie has knowledge in tap, pointe, folk, ballet and modern dance that allows her to train dancers of all ages. Angie is also very active and continues to play basketball with the professional urban league and has participated in the M.S Bike tour.

ANDRE BRINSON

EDUCATION 

Education:B.S. in Neuropsychology from Syracuse University 

Certifications: CSCS, USAW, NASM, and USATF

BIOGRAPHY:

He was a four year member of the inter-collegiate football (CB/PR) and track team and played in three bowl games, received a Big East Honorable Mention in football and is a school record holder for the most blocked punts in a season. Andre is a two-time Florida State Track and Field Champion, Penn Relays participant and played in the Florida-Georgia All-Star Game. USATODAY named him on the National List of Track and Field Performers and he was awarded All-American Honors as a Track and Field athlete. He was also a top finisher in the 4×400 relay and triple jump at Junior National Championship.

Andre actively trains athletes of all ages in various sports and coaches adult fitness.

 

JACHIN BROWN

Education: Degree in Health Science from Hunter College.

Certifications: ATC, CSCS, USAW-L1, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Bloodborne pathogens, Lifeguard, NAUI Scuba Diving

BIOGRAPHY:

Born and raised in New York, Jachin attended Hunter College, where he studied Health Science. He has been training athletes since 2005. Initially at New York Sports Club and now at Velocity Sports Performance, NYC, where his warm and friendly nature is welcomed.
Aside from his experience at fitness facilities, Jachin has also served as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at the collegiate level, working with teams from both NYU and ASA College. Jachin has a substantial background in Martial Arts having competed and been ranked nationally for several years. He boasts a black belt in Judo, Ju-Jutsu and Tae Kwon Do. Jachin also played semi-professional football for the New York Bandits and held the esteemed title of First Captain of the Harlem Hellfighters Football Team.

MAX CASTROGALEAS

Max is a firm believer that with hard work and great guidance you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. He also believes in long term athletic development to help athletes of all levels achieve their highest potential. Core values: Hard work, Dedication, Commitment, and Teamwork.

 

EDUCATION 

Education: B.S. Nutrition and Exercise Science from Queens College.

Certifications: NSCA-CSCS and TSAC-F. ACSM-HFS, USATF Level 1

Experience:

A former US Marine Corps Sergeant and Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor, Max comes to Velocity with leadership experience under physically and mentally demanding conditions. After serving two tours as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he graduated Cum Laude from Queens College with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Science with a Minor in Psychology. While in school, he assisted with research in functional movement and gait in children. Upon graduation, Max earned the titles of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator under the NSCA. His time spent in the military, in the classroom, and in the research lab have helped Max develop an approach to training that combines intensity, practicality, and knowledge when working with athletes in either a private or small group setting.

EDUCATION 

Education: B.S. Exercise Science from University of Buffalo

Certifications: USAW-Level 1

BIOGRAPHY:

Gary holds a Bachelors Degree in exercise science from the University of Buffalo as well as a Level 1 USAW certification. Gary has a background in baseball, basketball, and track and field. During high school he was on the track team and the baseball team, and he has played basketball in recreational leagues his whole life and continues to do so today. While attending school for Physical Therapy, Gary discovered weightlifting as a means to improve his vertical jump. After that he was hooked. Gary soon changed his major to exercise science and found a new passion in training athletes to jump higher, run faster, and get stronger. He is currently studying for his CSCS and USATF certifications.
